My friend has me pretty much set on a Savage Predator Combo in .204.
It'd be nice to reload and work up loads for two guns with same powder/bullets/dies

That does make it easy although it doesn't always work out that way.Buglemintoday wrote:My friend has me pretty much set on a Savage Predator Combo in .204.

Go for the FIREBALL!! Cheap to load for and WAY too much fun to shoot!! Have owned 2 of them and they have both been SUPER accurate, one heavy bbl and one light bbl. I stay away from the 20 grain bullets, prefer to use 25's. Brass is a touch expensive but case life is really good so have fun!!

Re: Another Varmint gun!
I have a cooper model 38 in .17 fireball and I love it. Very accurate out to 350 yards or a touch more. Mine shoots the 20's and 25's great and it is easy to load accurate rounds. Mine even shoot factory ammo fairly well.

Mine will shoot either remington factory load into less than a 1/2" if I am up to it! Prefered handloads hover around 3/8" or slightly less.....TOO much fun to shoot! Have sent many jackrabbits to thier graves with this little number! Benchmark and RL-10X best and ONLY powders that work in my SPS. Have not tried the bergers yet....but I will!
