Hey guys got a good question since I am noway a gunsmith
Rhetts youth 223 savage, the bolt is real tight/stiff is there anything I can do to slicken it up? There is times I will go down there (basement) pull is gun out and start working the bolt, hoping that will help. Is there anything else, I can do.

While doing what AC described, look for wear on all portions of the bolt, there may be a spot either on the bolt or the action that is not quite right causing excess friction. They will obviously be length ways on the bolt. If you lube it I would recommend to only apply a thin layer as most lubricants gather debris that also cause excess friction.
Song Dog, I would take the bolt out of the rifle and look at it closely with a magnifying glass for anything that might look unusual, such as a burr etc. This you can polish down yourself, then a very slight bit of gun grease on the rail of the rifle (not much) and things should be good to go.

Songdog,, +1 on getting out a magnifying glass... Look for any area that appear to be overly shiny, in comparison to the rest of the bolt.. that is the area that will be causing the problem(s)....
If you have some Flitz or Wenol metal polish you may be able to buff it out with a lot of elbow action or a Dremel tool with a soft buffing wheel...just use it very lightly...
It's also possible that the problem may be in the receiver itself and if that's the case, I'd contact the manufacturer for their suggestions... They may want to replace the receiver..
