Primers Available

Post by OldTurtle »

If anyone is hurting for primers, I stopped in Space Coast Bullets in Melbourne, FL while I was on vacation earlier in the month and they had a bunch...http://www.spacecoastbullets.com/index.htm

I picked up two bricks of Wolf Small Rifle Magnum primers for $40 per brick... I know that's high, but I'm getting low on CCI Magnums and I'd rather take the gouge than be without....

They carry a bunch of reloading supplies, but were short on some Hornady bullets..

Primers are showing up here in Illinois; Federal 205's and CCI's and I just got 5,000 Federal 205M's delivered, but with the hazmat and shipping they cost me $206.00. That works out to $41.20 a 1,000. Still less than what some scalpers are getting. But the good news is powders and primers are starting to come in. I hope it lasts because who knows what kind of laws will be passed next year regarding reloading components. And will we be required to buy a manufacturer's license to reload? :wall:

It's not a joking matter either...
we be required to buy a manufacturer's license to reload?
I've read a couple of proposals that were aimed and allowing a maximum of a total 1000 rounds to be held by anyone, at any given time... (handgun, rifle, & shotgun)

Fortunately, they have never made it to the legal side of the legislation....but just the fact that some of the Anti's are thinking this way bothers me..

That kind of law would turn me into a criminal real quick...The record keeping and enforcement would be a logistical nightmare and I'm hoping that the isolated fact of that will help in the future..

That is a problem for real. This government over the last 30 years has shown they don't care how much they burden anybody with more work or the tax payers with added expenses. These are the kinds of things that make them say,, "If it's that much work & costs the taxpayers that much money then it has to work." Logic is not the strong suit of this administration.

Got to the local supply shop the other day and they had several brands and types of primers on the shelves. CCI, Remington and Federal - no Wnchesters yet. They probably had 50 or 60,000 Federal 205s. $40 per thousand for any of them, 10% off if you bought 5000. Bought one brick of the Fed 205s as I've still got 5000 on order at $30 per brick plus we're heading into winter, so trigger time will be slowing down.

The first or second weekend in October I was in a Scheel's store in Bismarck, ND. They had a good supply of Federal, CCI, and Remington primers for large and small rifles as well as pistol and shotgun primers. I was very surprised to see about 10,000 Rem 7½ primers on the shelf because they very seldom seem to have any Rem 7½ primers. They had these primers priced at $29.99/M and I probably should have bought the maximum they allowed, which I think was one brick of 1,000 of them, but I still have over 3,000 on hand at home and I may not live long enough to use all of those

Hey Fox,

My wife says old prairie dog shooters never die, they just smell that way.
