Thanks for all the info. I finally made a decision on a caliber and rifle.The Remington 700 with 5R barrel is out because of it's 1-9 twist. I did like that rifle, It fit me perfect.. Now the potential of the 6.5 Creedmoor in a match rifle definitely has my attention! It looks like the 6.5 is the way to go even though I wanted ammo to be on the inexpensive side. I see Cooper chambers the 6.5 Creedmoor in the model 22 Montana Varminter weighing in at about 8 lbs. The only thing I don't like about the Cooper is the 26 inch barrel. We'll find out how long the wait will be tomorrow, and if a 24 inch barrel is possibile.

Nice going with that M1A. We have our first John Garand match this weekend with club supplied ball ammo. I'm sure it'll be a full house with lots of HOT case tattoos for all.
