New to the Forum w/ new rifle in 204 had a blast Sat.
Hi All, gotta new Browning A-Bolt last week in 204 Ruger topped off with a Bushnell 6-18X40. Man this thing luv reloads with the Hornady 40 grain V-maxes backed with H-4895. I went hunting this Sat. and went 5 for five. Longest shot this trip was about 257 yards but definitely pleased with the accuracy & low recoil of the rifle. Here's a pic. Sam

Welcome to the site!
204's are like M & M's, you can't have one or just shoot a couple times.

The low recoil of the round is one of my favourite aspects of it. Nothing more entertaining than watching bullet strikes through the scope.
Suppose you would be shooting ground hogs in VA???
I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Virginia. Several years ago when traveling with a buddy I crashed my motorcycle in a turn in the south western part of the state, with no cellular phone coverage. A local guy stopped and we loaded my bike in his truck and he took us to his place where we did some phoning but it was later in the day so we stayed the night with him and his wife after swapping hunting stories well into the evening. The next day, after a hearty biscuits and gravy breakfast, he drove us 45 miles to a Yamaha dealer who got me mobile again. The dealer was great too, he was mostly an ATV guy but combined with my knowledge of my bike we got ti going again. Only charged me for materials, wouldn't accept a dime for his time.
Gotta love the southern hospitality.

Sam:
What size groups are you getting?
I wish you would persuade Browning to make more lefthand versions, and I would have one of these! I had an A-Bolt Medallion in .223, and I loved it so much that I shot 6000 rounds in two years!
See my post about the Rock Chuck Derby.
You will enjoy that rifle.

Well doggone, Sam, if you didn't go and get yourself a 204. Thought you'd never leave the 22-250. Glad you got 5 for 5; I haven't seen five in one day in a long time.
To bring you up to date. Alan finally finished my Custom 204 in February. It has Stiller Predator action, Shilen barrel, H-S Precision synthetic stock and Jewell trigger. Carries a Leupold VX-III 4.5-14X side focus, duplex reticle, scope. Very accurate. It got chuck #17 for the season today. A great "walking varminter" just as it was designed.
Guys have flamed me on this board for not posting a picture of the new rifle but I haven't taken any pictures. Sorry guys.

Hey Stevecrea...It's shooting about 3/10 with the 40 grain hornadys. I'm a lefty as well.. still don't have a left hand rifle.
I've been loading for a friends 204 for a few years.. just got around to getting my own.
Hey Don, sounds like your Stiller is doing ya justice. I'm glad your happy with it. Allen does superb work.
Can't wait till nest weekend and drill a few. Sam

Sam, welcome to the forum! One of the best aspects of the .204 is seeing the show through your scope Gary

Sam:
Is that 3/10 inch at 100 yards? With Hornady factory ammo? That is superb!!

Sam,
You had better make sure no one steals that one from you! .3 MOA is very good in my book!
Now, please persuade Browning to make it in lefthand for me.
Thanks,
Steve
