Redding trim die, hornady brass inconsistant.

Post by Inrut24/7 »

I tried my redding trim die out for the first time last evening and i have to say that i really like it, Its not as time consuming as i thought it would be, I tried all the brass in the die after one loading , but none needed trimmed, last nights brass was after two loadings and about 2 thirds of the brass needed trimmed, The brass that got filed then measured 1.849. some of the brass that didnt need trimmed was as short as 1.840 even after two loadings. :?:

Is your brass from different lots?
Are you working up loads?
Light charges might not stretch the brass as much as full charges. Especially if your using a FL die headspaced incorrectly. Just a thought.
