Silver Scope Rail

Post by jarred15801 »

I have a Savage Model 12, short action, with a round receiver. It has a stainless barrel and i would like to put a silver or stainless scope rail on top if it. All i can seem to find are black rails or normal bases that are silver. Please let me know if you know where i can find this. Thank you.

Thank you but non of those are rails, they are just 1 or 2 piece bases.

jarred: For the absolute top end 1913 Picatinny rail, Near Mfg makes the units that are supplied to the US Army, Navy, Marines, and FBI among others. They are available with various MOA angles built in, and are the 'real meal deal' for precision rifles and made from the finest materials, oversize Torx screws, and available in black nitride or stainless. This is not a cheap "wanna-be" rail made from soft aluminum offered by other makers.

The only caveat is that I'm not sure if they make them for Savages, as none of the above entities uses Savage rifles for any tactical ops.

Thanks for the better recommendation Rick. I should have mentioned, I'm not sure I'd use a B-Square mount on my rifle, after seeing their parts mostly made for Airsoft toys. I guess for $7 though, I'd probably give the one they advertise to work on a Savage a try before spending $100's having something custom made.
