acloco, accidents will always happen but we can all minimise the risk just by being sensible. Many years ago when i was still young and foolish i attempted to step over a barbed wire fence that was just a little too high, well i got my dangly bits caught and fell over, landing on top of my rifle, which was in condition 1(cocked and locked) but it did'nt discharge, only damage was to the tele sight and my pride. It won't happen to me again.

Re: Be careful out there.....accidents happen.
I have had some odd things happen while hunting, but accidents are always on my mind since I hunt alone. My wife and mother worry about me all the time due to the amount of serious poachers we have that roam around the 150 acres that I hunt. I've run into a few of them. . .
My biggest fear is sitting out for turkey and having some jerkoff poacher poppin' a tom and not being able to see me behind that bird. I wear a leafy suit and recently bought a ghillie.
Since the women folk are worry warts, we have areial maps with deer stands, turkey stands, and coyote stands marked so that if I'm not back by my check in time they know where to come lookin'.
Those fellas were sure lucky that they were together, had cell phone signal, and had a small caliber. Think what things could have been like if it wasn't a 22-250 and a .243 or 30-30 instead! Either way, its no good to be in their shoes.
Thank you for the reminder that safety is paramount.

Put an orange flag above your turkey setup. Tie it tight so it doesn't move a whole lot. I put it at eye level standing up.

the blind I have has a few orange flags attached to it that ya deploy when ya enter.
That orange flag ain't a bad idea. I'll work on it a bit and see what I can come up with.
Thanks Glen
