Useing air pressure to skin big game?
Last night I was watching Dirty Jobs on Discovery. The job was rendering dead livestock. The 1st process was skinning the animal. They cut a slit in it between the hide and meat. Then they shoved an air nozzle in the slit and turned it up. You could see the skin pull away from the muscle, like blowing up a balloon. Has anyone tried this on elk or deer? I know it sounds weird but so did pulling the hide off of a deer with a truck the first time I heard about it.

There are several youtube videos that show this method being done.
Here is one.....

You wouldn't want to wait to long before doing this, as the guts are still inside (from what I could tell anyways) while you skin in this method. However back when I was home on the farm most of my white tails were so close to the yard we would skin and gut them mere minutes after the kill. I would certainly have liked to give it a try as we had a large industrial size compressor in our shop.

I guess it would work if you had a place to do it with power and a compressor. Might be tough in the mountains.
