Seeing as no one else jumped in....

The few 39 bk factory loads I tried exhibited very good accuracy.
I'm not a hunter but from what I've read and some expierience disecting .204 pills I can say this.
The 39bk is the most frangible 204 bullet around with perhaps the exception of the Varmint Grenade.
Hit a yote stright on in the vitals and it should work fine.
Glancing blows at odd angles could cause trouble.

thanks for the info, i will steer clear of these bullets then. i am looking for a bullet that doesn't explode so quick.

RedTwo: If yer lookin' for a good coyote bullet in your 204R, try either the 35gr Berger, or the 45gr Hornady, as either will give you what you're after in terms of DRT and minimal pelt damage. The Berger usually gets the nod in the accuracy department.

It's an excellent bullet, but many factory rifles with the 12 twist just refuse to shoot them well. I've got a bunch stashed, and plan to try them out in my 11 twist custom M700 Pac-Nor barrel soon.

The 39gr SBK seems to be the darling of the 204 Ruger in regard to the "heavy" bullet. Many 12 twist rifles that don't seem to shoot the 40 V-Max though, will shoot the 45gr Hornady bullet....go figure. Bearing length is the prime consideration here, not just weight.
