Harrel Powder throwers?
I purchesed a Harrel Powder thrower and i am having trouble with using H 4895 in it. The powder dosent come out unless you tap it out after you work the handle. Does the throwers only work with ball powders. It was accurate but if you have to tap it to come out it defeats the purpose of the speed of the thrower. Help!!

Maj: That's the trouble using an extruded powder in a precision measure really intended for spherical powders more suited to what the BR guys use.
The Harrell is top notch in all regards, you just need to either switch powders to one more suited to its operation, or re-train the operator. I've only used one a few times at a buddies house, but not owning one personally, I can only give you what I've encountered to date with his. Others here use the Harrell, maybe they can chime in with better info.

Re: Harrel Powder throwers?
Thats what i was afraid of. My buddy uses H335 in his 204 and it works like a charm. But i am afraid to switch powders when i got a good thing going. My son recently bought a new .204 and we were testing loads , powders and h 335 just didnt perform as good as h 4895. Are there any other ball powders to try?

Not all ball, but here's just a few to try in the 204/Harrell:
WW748
Benchmark (very small extruded)
RL-10X (same)
H335 already mentioned, but a good choice
Probably others also, these just came to mind right away.

Re: Harrel Powder throwers?
Is the rx10 as small or smaller than H322 because we tried that in the thrower and didnt have great results.

Re: Harrel Powder throwers?
I'm in the process of switching from W-748 over to the Ramshot X-Terminator and Ramshot TAC for my .204s and .223s...
It's a little more economical and burns a little cleaner..... It meters like water.....

I'll second Old Trutle's recomendation on the Win-748.
It meters really well, and I have been getting good results with it.
