I saw a couple of 1911s today that looked pretty good. The others I saw were "Rock Island" and Springfield armory. Can anyone give me some info. on the other 2 as well?

Re: What can anyone tell me about the "High Standard" brand.
High Standard used to make some really, really excellent .22 target pistols(among other stuff), but they went out of business awhile back. This current rendition I'm not too familiar with, but I THINK (not completely sure) that the Rock Island and High Standard 1911s are both built on Filipino frames from Armscor. Nothing earthshattering about them, but solid guns, nothing fancy. Springfield Armory 1911s are built on Imbel frames from Brazil, at least the lessor models are, frames and slides are both Brazilian, and excellent quality. I don't like the Springfield's internal parts, they're a bit soft compared to Colt's and I don't like the two-piece barrel, but I can't fault the accuracy of those barrels.
I'm really fussy about 1911s, though.
