Woohoo! 550 yd. rabbit. .243 AI

Post by Verminator2 »

Went out again tonight on top of the haystack. I got up there and after only 3 minutes of waiting out hopped a jackrabbit. I guessed him at 550 and dialed 8 minutes of elevation. I held right on, even with a 4 mph left to right wind, and the 87 Vmax did its job very well. When I went back and ranged him it was 550 on the nose. That was my trick and treat this evening :D This is my second longest kill on an animal.

Thanks. It's a stock off a SPS Varmint. I'm going to get a McMillan A5 as soon as I get enough money.

 Verminator2.......way to go! Great shot and nice pics. Thanks for sharing and good luck with 243 AI. Just checked my notes and we were shooting at a target at 650 yards, I needed 12.5 moa to be on with 107 sierra's out of my 6mm Remington. Yours is a real flat shooter!

Yeah, its pretty sweet. How fast are those 107s going? My 87s are 3315, and they take 10.5 to get to 670.

Verminator2............I have a few loads H-4350 gets 3180 and H-4831 gets 3100. I'm more after accuracy than max velocity. The 107's do fly great out of my 8 twist hart barrel.

Yeah, this one is a 1-10, once it burns out I will get a Pac-nor or something in a 1-8" twist. Hopefully shoot some 105 VLDs or those 111 Dtachs.

Nice shot verm.
You're a regular rangefinder. How's the bunny population out in those parts this year?

Thanks bullfrog :D I seem to only work in that particular spot though, thats where I spend most of my time so I know the ranges well. It's not great at my house, we'll see how many are around the haystacks once we get some snow to stick.
