My new .204

Post by rfurman24 »

Just got my .204fv from Kevin at Stockade guns a few weeks ago and just got to shoot it. It loves Hornady 40gr vmax factory loads. Both groups are 5shots at 100yds. I could not see where the 5th shot actually went on the second pic but I know it had to have gone through one of the other holes. Enjoy the pics.

LOL.I did not think about that when I put the dime that close. Seriously though there were five shots all in that picture and none under the dime. It did not seem to like the other ammo. It did start to foul towards the end of our shooting and I had forgotten to bring the cleaning kit. I can not wait to start reloading for it.

Nice groups with 40 gr V-max (kinda rare with most factory tubes). Is that a factory 1 in 12 twist tube?

Both my LRPV and my 12FV love 40gr V-max's. Got a .2 with the LRPV and a .380 with the 12FV. I tried Noslers 40's in both and they threw them all over....way over a 2 inch group with different charges of powder. However they both shoot 32gr V-maxes and 39gr BK's in the same POI as the 40 Gr vmax. So I load all three, but I find myself reaching for the 40gr Vmax's in the PD patch b/c it is usually kinda windy, but the 32's sure do have a good boom, whopp, splat factor!!!! Those are some good looking groups Rfurman! Post some pics of carnage when you get some! And if you want I could PM you some of the recipes I have found for my 12FV and maybe you could share what works for you. Let me know. -Dan
