Hi,
does anyone out there own one of the lighter savage rifles in 204.
I own the model 12 vlp and really like it .
I need a light weight varmint rifle to carry around the hills where I live whistling foxes and was curious as to forum members ideas on ths subject.
I do generally prefer stainless steel finish.
cheers

Re: Opinion on savage sporter weight?
I picked up a blue one with 24 inch barrel and syn. stock. It shoots the same load my two varmint rifles like very well. I haven't shot it much yet, but most 5 shot groups are .6 to .8 nice round groups. I put a 4.5-14X Leupold to have the same look as my varmint rifles(kind of like puttin' a siver saddle on a pack mule). I love mine!

If your into a lightweight carry rifle for foxing,I can recommend the remi lvsf.Nice and light and accurate with handloaded ammo. And best of all,it`s stainless.
I only have to be lucky once,
the fox has to be lucky every time!
