Brand new for 2008. I've attached a Bushnell Elite 4200 (6x24x40 Mil Dot) atop. Enjoy...

Maybe I should have wiped it down first. I can see my prints all over the barrell. Tomorrow I take it for it's first visit to the range...enjoy.

I love the look of those rifles, wish they made a left hand version! i'd buy one! or even better, a left hand action that I could put a barrel on!

Nice looking all around piece there!! Love the stock color an lamination. I can see why you grabed IT. Hope she does well at range for you.
Don't worry about the figure prints...............long as there yours..haha

I just got one in 204 a couple days ago. Shot it a little. Was getting horizontal spread. 27.6 grains of H4895 39 gr sierra. 3780 fps. About 3/4 inch groups. Hope it was from the wind. I am waiting for better conditions. Windy today too in ND. I love the design of the stock. Also the small diameter short action. It weighs 9 1/2 pounds scoped. Nice weight. A couple things I don't like is the heavy bolt lift caused the the sixty degree bolt lift and a loud click as the bolt closes. It is from the detent. Any way of quieting it down? I put a new Nikon 4 to 16, side focus, BDC reticle on it. It is the thumbhole. I cut down the inside of the magazine with dremel tool so it feeds single shot by just throwing in the case. Ordered another one from Savage so I can use it as a repeater if I seat the bullets in far enough. Has to be seated to 2.300. $12.00 plus $5.00 shipping.

I'd kinda like a closer look at the bolt/lockup system before I get too worked up, but from here, so far, it looks like a nice working rifle that should give good service for most stuff.
Go slow on working up loads, I've seen a Model 40 Hornet get pretty antsy with what are really modest loads, so be aware of that, and take it easy working up your loads.
