It was basically brought in as a knee jerk reaction to a terrible tragedy perpetrated by a complete madman.The goverment then got to work to convince anybody with a gun,that they were probably guilty by association ,and putting the children of this country at risk,if they so much as thought about trying to keep there guns!
Now we are at the remarkable time,when we have an Olympics 4 years down the road,and if you want to compete for the U.K,you have to go abroad to practise.
There are a lot of people in this country who now wish they had tried to keep our handguns when we had the chance,as through history,it has allways proved to be easier to keep what you have got,than to try and get something back once it`s gone.
