Man is it Green out! Squirrels are up!

Post by Ryan S Albright »

I left work at 10:30 am after working all night so I took the back roads home and checking for ground squirrels. After the rains the country is eye popping green out. I was looking to test fire my new Remington 700 LVSF which I am have having problems with it fact I just sent it out to have the bolt checked out it is having extraction problems the bolt is very stiff to lock down. Any way I did pop a squirrel about 120 yrds out I lifted it to one side about 20 feet with a 32gr Vmax.ImageImageImage

Nice, its not that green up here, but the squirrels are up :D I also saw a rockchuck in a different town yesterday. Can't wait for spring.

I've got about 10 days before the Rattle snakes come out. The hunting down here is getting tighter and tighter with the building development spreading all over the valley. I've been calling for coyotes all weekend with no luck. Day time only. I haven't resorted to night hunting yet as I just got better after a long illness that really cut into my hunting. The squirrels are few and far between in the areas where I can shoot.
