Ruger Hawkeye 204?
Hi, new member here. Just curious if there is anyone here has a Ruger Hawkeye 204 and how you like it? I got one on the way and hope it shoots. I plan on reloading for this cartridge. Plan on using this rifle to walk around with and do some coyote and fox hunting with it, maybe take a wolf if I get one to come into my Foxpro FX3.

Of all the brands offered, Rugers seems to work well with 40 grain bullets, so you might have one that'll work with the heavier bullets. That would be a GOOD thing. Welcome to the .204um, if you have questions after you get your rifle, feel free to ask!

AK204-- There is a wealth of information on this Web site right at your fingertips if you will use the "Search" function. It is below and to the right of the RugerHunting.com logo. Just type in "Ruger Hawkeye" or any item you are interested in researching and you'll get lots of reading material. A friend of mine, Howler, purchased the very rifle you are asking about in the very caliber you asked about. Here is a link to that thread:

Hope this helps.

Re: Ruger Hawkeye 204?
Update time. I picked up my Hawkeye 204 the other day. Now I need to get a scope for it and take it to the range.
Pretty pleased with the initial impressions of the rifle. The action was a little rough, but I seemed to smooth it out quite a bit while cycling the bolt for about an hour or so as I was watching tv. I'll take the barreled action out of the stock tomorrow and sand the barrel channel a bit and float the barrel. I did notice that the barrel was touching the right side of the stock a bit, so that'll be corrected.
The trigger is so-so. Not the best, but not too bad, either. I can't wait to see how it shoots.
