A question for the bullet gurus

Post by crawpytime1 »

I wanting to know what is the best constucted bullet for yotes. I have heard a lot lately on how bullet construction is by far the most important thing. So what are your thoughts on the bergers hp, hornady vmax and sierra blitzkings. I definitely want educated answers not just what has wroked for most. i want to hear the ins and out what makes one different than the other and why a certain one would be best for the yotes.

If a certain bullet has worked for most wouldn't that be an "educated" answer?

and why a certain one would be best for the yotes.
That depends on if you are looking to save the skins?

Welcome crawpytime
I'm not a hunter or a bullet guru.
From what I have read shot placement is still the most critical thing. Always has been.
In order of your choices. Toughest bullets
#1 Berger
#2 V-Max
#3 Sierra

As a non hunter I came to this conclusion by simply bending the bullets with two pliers until the jacket snapped.
Not very scientific I know.
Try it though you might be surprised at the difference between Sierra and Berger.
Then try em in the real world.

wrxwaldo I know what U R saying about works for most. I just know there are some that shoot 2 coyotes with a certain round and now swear this is the best round or bullet to go with. Which is fine for them. I just have heard on several boards about how the make up of the Bergers are better than the Blitzkings and vice verse. I do know the diffenrence between a Bt and HP. I'm just not to familiar with the make up and how one could be better than the other. Both the vmax and the blitzkings are BT. I'm just curious as to why one will do better than the other or how they will react at impact. i do appreciate the help .

Search out replies here by Silverfox. He has shot many coyotes with the 35gr Berger & is now running the 39gr BK's at em. His posts are the most informative & should answer some of your questions. HTH

Welcome to the Forum as well!!

BTW-- I HATE putting that reply on a board!!!!! :wall: But in this case Silverfox has made so many great posts it would be hard to gather them all up and link to them.
