Screech !!

Post by adam »

I know there has been numerous posts recently on barrel cleaning but I have one more question
When I am brushing out my 204, Especially with a new brush, It tends to make an awful high pitch screech as I push it down the tube. Is this normal or ok?
Its a stainless barrel, and I use Kg cleaning products because I have had good results with it.
Thank you in advance
Adam

I get a screech too when using Montana Extreme 50 BMG in the basement, but not from the barrel and brush. :axe:

The screech you are hearing is the dry bore to dry brush contact. Even if you wet the brush well at the bore guide port, all the solvent will have dissipated before the brush gets all the way down the tube. Run a couple of loose wet patches before the brush and anoint it at the muzzle on each pass until you have a nice sloppy bore . You want the volume of cleaner to float off the debris.
