Here`s stumpy.

Post by foxwhistler »

Just thought the people on the forum might find this story amusing. After 24 hours even i`m starting to see the funny side.
To cut a long story short, there has been a film crew round my area for a fewmonths, shooting a film.
Part of the film,by what i can understand, involves the poisoning of a fox,and somehow they were given my name as someone who could supply the fox.
Of coarse i was only to pleased to do it when i heard the money they were willing to pay.
Anyway with the big day looming(next monday)i started thinking of the fox.
I decided to try calling a fox to the shotgun first of all to minimise any damage, but after a couple of trips id seen a few foxes, but none close enough,so last night i decided to try the 204 with the lamp.
We set of at 8.30 pm last night but nothing seemed very interested in standing still long enough for a shot, and time was getting on.
Eventually we came to a field of sheep and in the middle of it,about 100yds away sat a fox.As soon as the light hit him he started to trot away, but a call eventually stoped him and the 204 did the rest.
As we walked up to him(180yds) i was just thinking that i hoped i hadn`t blown a big hole in him and i hoped he didn`t have mange.
When we reached him it was a relief to see he was a perfect dog fox,and you couldn`t even see where the bullet entered.
Then i noticed that my perfect fox only had a 3 inch tail.
Anyway sorry about the long story and the crap phone photo.
Heres Stumpy.
