Nightforce 5.5/22/56 NXS

Post by Ray P »

I have a chance to pick up a used one. No ring marks scope looks in good shape the gentlemen wants more scope power. This is why he is selling it. What is it worth? I figure it has to be about 5 yrs old? How long have the NXS sieries been out? He told me he paid $1250 for it. The scope has a target dot for a retical.
Thanks any help would be appreciated.

If the scope is free from any abuse (accidental or otherwise) I'd offer about a $1000 for it and see if he takes it. I think the MSRP on that model is in the $1500 range.

What are you planning to do with the scope? If its for target shooting you would probably be better off with the NightForce Benchrest models. The NXS has 1/4 in clicks where the Benchrest models have the 1/8 in clicks. On the other hand the NXS has a side focus where the Benchrest models have an Adjustable Objective on the front of the scope. It all depends on what you prefer.

The scope you are referencing currently sells for $1500. I agree with WrzWaldo, offer $1000 and see if they bite. It is five years old.

Thanks for you help guys. This might go on a project gun I'm building. The nightforce 5.5/22/56 has 95moa of usable elevation adj. Were my 6.5/20/50 Mark4 Leupold only has 70 moa of usable elevation adj. I'd rathe 1/4moa adj more than 1/8moa adjustments. The reason is all my other scopes are 1/4 moa adjustments.
Thanks again.

If want to check out the scope, go the geneal area on the forum and go to B & C stocks. I have pics posted, it is mounted on my Rem 700 sa in 204 Ruger wearing a 26" hart barrel. Enjoy
