Hey guy's whasss up ,done a search on this powder (H4198) did not get the answer that I wanted so here we go, does anyone have load data for H4198 in the 204 I used it in the 223 and tac 20 with fair results but could not find data for the 204
I did see where silverfox had a post on this but no real solid answer.

glocknrock-- I have shot 71 of the 32 gr. Sierra BlitzKing bullets at paper using H4198. I searched the Internet and found some loads that, at least in my humble opinion, were WAY OVER WHAT COULD BE CONSIDERED A SAFE LOAD IN MY RIFLE. One load I saw listed was 26.5 gr. of H4198 with a CCI SR Match primer and Hornady brass using the 32 gr. Sierra bullet. This reloader was using an M-77 Ruger R.L. with a 26" barrel. The group size listed was 0.2" for 3 shots. The comment listed was: "Good load, 27.5 gr. is a little more accurate" I find it hard to believe this fellow's rifle was still in one piece after shooting the 26.5 gr. load and then I see the comment that the 27.5 gr. load was more accurate!!!!!!! YIKES!!!! PLEASE DO NOT TRY THESE TWO LOADS I JUST LISTED!!!!
I notice that the load data from IMR has 22.0 gr. of IMR4198 listed as the starting load and 23.5 gr. of IMR4198 listed as the maximum load. I checked what the minimum and maximum loads listed at the IMR site for H4895 are EXACTLY the same as Hodgdon's min and max loads for H4895. I am extrapolating with this next statement, so BE CAREFUL if you follow my thinking and test out any loads because I don't think IMR4198 and H4198 are the same powder, nor should the load data for them be used interchangeably!!! However, MAYBE one could, with a great deal of caution, use the load data for IMR4198 powder with H4198 powder and pay real close attention to signs of excessive pressure while wearing shooting gloves, protective eyewear, etc., etc., etc.
These are just some off-thetop-of-my-head ramblings, so PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!
When I was testing the 32 gr. Sierras, they would tumble if I got my velocity much over 3,850 to 3,875 fps. I shot a load of 22.9 gr. of H4198 using the Rem 7½ primers out of my Hornady brass and got 3,891 fps. I shot that same load and used the same primers out of my WW brass and got 3,941 fps. Since these loads in the WW brass were at a velocity that tended to have bullets go through my 100 yard targets sideways, I didn't pursue using the 32 gr. Sierras anymore in WW brass anymore. I do still have about 100 rounds of 32 gr. Sierras loaded with 22.9 gr. of H4198 in Hornady brass that I will use to shoot AT prairie dogs this coming summer--the OPERATIVE WORD here is "AT" because these bullets sometimes only make it halfway to a 100 yard prairie dog before they hit the ground!!!!
