Skipper
Now that you mention it,I don't think he owns an American rifle either
The BEST speed rush I know of is diong 125 mph on a Snownmobile through the woods If it sucks gas it's fun.
Ever tour the Vette Factory in Bowling Green KY.I did back in the early 90's while at the Buick Natoinals. WAY COOL I've been a gear head since I was 16(42 now). I won about 10 trophies showing the Riviera and the Truck. All my engine pictures are on my old computer with a fried mother board . The Riv had 225 HP NOS at one time.FUN FUN FUN.

Never had a car as fast as Skipper’s but my baby, or was it my wife’s baby? was an 82 Collector’s Edition Vette. When we moved to Idaho in 89 the roads were so bad that I sold it instead of tearing it apart. We both still regret that decision. I did make a good profit though, and bought a nice boat.

Okay Hawkeye, now you're pickin on my Sako 204 'cause it's made in Finland?
Need I remind you Grasshopper, that I drive a Chevy truck, have many Winchesters (of which you now have one of them), Remington's, Ruger's, Kimbers, Smith & Wessons, etc...... and have an American flag flying outside my house..... See, I was right, I should have never told you what I drive for fun!
Come to think of it, I'm not sure which is more fun, going fast in a sweet ride, or going slower in my truck with rifles and ammo in the back, on the way to a squirrel or PD safari.....hummmm, I like having to make decisions like that!

Back in 1980, I had a Ford Fiesta (NO, not a Festiva!) a little German Ford econobox, that was a blast to throw around into corners and it would scream. No big motor, but it had guts. Best handling car you'd care to drive. Ford followed it up with the Escort, a gutless wonder, if ever there was one. German cars, even the little econoboxes, are a ball to drive.
Uncle Andy drove a 944 for a long time, he got it after selling his split window '63. His brother, Sam, drove a '68 and a '72.

How did a case prep post go into Vettes and Chevys and that German stuff!!! I quess thats where you store your .204 's , works for me !! But you better use Ricks Chevy truck for the p-dog hunt, you wouldn't want that nice clean pretty Vette to get all dirty in the mud!! I can just picture about 6 guys stuffed into a creme- puff Vette tooling down the road with there .204 's and six of Ricks shooting stands and 1000 rounds of ammo on the way to a p-dog shoot !!

Come on, guys. Ya'll are killing me with the talk about selling split windows and such. Just think what they would be worth if you still had them today. I had a '69 Z28 that I trashed around a telephone pole back in '72. I kick myself every time I think about that day. That car would sell for a small fortune now days.
When I bought my Corvette, I had already made up my mind that I was going to buy a 1995 Porsche 911 twin turbo w/ 4 wheel drive. I found one for about $135,000. I went to take it for a test drive and was appalled when I got inside. The interior was "plain jane" compared to some of the other cars I was considering. A couple of my buddies that had Corvettes told me that I was crazy for buying the Porsche. They said that I could buy a brand new Corvette, add all the horse power I wanted and still put $40K back in my pocket. They said I would end up with a car that would leave the Porsche standing at red lights. They were right. I paid $46,500 for the Corvette brand new. I spent $30,000 in all the modifications. That ends up costing less than a Viper with about 200 HP more. The Porsche had 415 HP. I just stay away from the twisties when I run the Porsche's. Even with my suspension upgrades, I can't take a Porsche in the turns. Other than that I'll have to take my hat off to Jason Cohen, the owner of Motorsport Technologies. He sure knows how to build a Vette. People send their cars to him from all over the world.
Rick, you could sell both those Euros and get a Vette. I'll personally take you and introduce you to the good folks at Motorsport. I'll even sit in the passenger seat when you take it out for your first test drive. I want to see the look on your face when you are going 70 mph down the freeway and bury the throttle with the nitrous bottle open. I just want to see if you can recover from changing three lanes of traffic with the back end sliding sideways.

Okay, I'll build a trailer to hitch up to Skipper's Vette, that way two guys can be back on the trailer, one of them on one of my benches at the rifle, the other loading up more ammo on an "accessory bench", and I'll be in the Vette with Skipper, riding shotgun, drinking the beer!
Do they make lift kits and off-road tires for Vette's?
Oh, just read your post right ahead of mine....yes, I kick my own butt for ever selling my '63 split window, it was a full out custom, 12 second blaster. Don't remind me!
And as I'm now getting a tad older, running nitrous and 600HP sounds good, but my wifey tells me I need to "mellow out" and live longer....I just think she wants me to stay around so she doesn't have to mow the lawn.

How would that work skipper ?? you got us doing 150 mph in the vette and I am leaning through the moon roof with the 204 in one hand and the beer in the other , now the 39 gr. sierra is going 4,000 fps !! I really have it stoked !!! and the poor coyote is maybe doing 20 mph , who can guess the lead that I should hold to nail wiley coyote .and don't forget Ricks down ther loading ammo the whole time with as much powder as he can stuff into the case , no need for a powder measure on this venture!!
