Anyone else having problems finding 17 shells? I was going to order a brick from midway until I saw the postage and insurance fees. I'll just wait it out and snag a few boxes here and there when I find it.

Cabelas has Hornady for 13.99, which I refuse to pay. 11.99 is the max I'll pay because that about equals the shipping price from Midsouth when they are on sale.

For spring prairie dog pup shooting when there are a lot of targets within 150 yards a accurate rifle chambered for the 17 HMR is the rifle to have. I can hit them at longer ranges with my Cooper 57 M LVT rifle but I like it when the bullet still has the velocity to open up, better splatter factor. Im a 17 caliber fan and have a 17 HM2 rifle for the shorter shots and a 17 Hornet, 17 Fireball, 17 Rem, and a 204 Ruger for shots beyond 150 yards. If I could have only one varmint rifle it would the a 204 Ruger. But for shooting prairie dogs I like the low muzzle blast and recoil of the 17 caliber rim fire and center fire rifles.
