I am looking at buying a used 10/22. Are all 10/22 parts interchangeable? I heard there is an old style and a new style. I have never owned one so I don't know anything about them. I am wanting to customize it but I want to make sure they are all the same and are interchangeable. Please help.

JG, I've not heard of an old/new on 10/22. There is an old/new on 10/22Mag. that involves ejection groves on the barrel and parts in the bolt. I'll bet the guys at Midway could answer any questions. You're in for a lot of fun with a custom 10/22. Enjoy!
Thanks huntsman, I guess with the barrel band you can still easily change stocks and stuff. Does the band come off with the stock or the barrel? I will probably put on a fiberforce stock, any problems? Thanks again

JG, the band is a separate component. It can be removed without taking anything else off. You can also mount a front sling swivel to it. I have a pic of a stainless 10-22 carbine in my new plinker thread. Or go to Rugers website. Don
New or not, They are a hoot to shoot. And a 10-22 is a great way to start. Lots of aftermarket goodies around. Anything from 50 rd drum mags to folding stocks. You can customize one to fit your wants or needs. I think you will find one is not enuff........ Get on the bandwagon now, before it leaves without ya.Don
