My new Vaquero in .45 COLT> not my first Ruger SA but my first .45 Colt.
The Dealer told me that all Vaqueros are impossible to order now.

Welcome to the board Jay. Those are some nice looking handguns. Do they see much action?

Here is my Single Six I have had for many years.

I did the wax model, then cast the Sterling snake and inlayed it into the grip, plated the backstrap nickel and trigger gold, otherwise it is just the way I bought it.

Thanks, I found the deer skull in the hills around Calistoga California and I thought it made a good prop. I saw a Clint Eastwood cowboy movie and went home and worked up the snake for the grip just for grins.

I try to play with inlay and carving every once and a while, I am working on a carving for a Browning stock right now that I will post when I am done, that is if it ever gets warm again.

With the new computer, came a new scanner, so here's an old pic of some Rugers and Colts I've had. Yes, the Colts are SA semi-autos, but still single action, right? .45 ACP and .38Super, missing are a 10mm and a LW Commander or two. There's a shortened Super Blackhawk .44 I took a deer with, a .41 Mag. 6 1/2" and a .45 Colt/.45 ACP convertible 4 5/8". I sure do miss them all, but times and tastes change.....

Hey fellers/ My go to hunting pistol is this .45 Blackhawk with a M8-2X Leupold. Shoots consistent 2" groups at 100 yards and has done better. Bullet of choice for hunting is the 300gr XTP launched at slightly over 1100fps. Never recovered a bullet from a critter. Killed several deer with it including this buck. Killed the #4 Corsican Ram in the world by handgun for the year 2000 with it after crawling through briars for 5 hours. Great gun. reflex264
