Robert, go here and ask the question. There are many more folks there that may be able to help with your serial number/age.

Thank you Rick,i looked. Guess i need to join . I read all the old 3 screw single six posts, not a 1 close to my numbers. Wishful thinking migh be a rare 1 haha . Chances of that, slim to none. But shoots ruger unconverted nice and locks tight. Small bit of blue wear at muzzle end from holster. Id say its been shot very little.
Must add it has adujstable sights both windage and elevation

Robert, or anyone for that matter. Take this bit of info for what it is worth but having been in LE for over 28 years I can tell you it is not a wise thing to do and show the serial number of any firearm on social media or sites. Criminals are really cleaver at using them for their gain. If you show or ask about such and such use maybe a portion and then xxxx's for other numbers. Just a thought. Bill K :)

3 screws were made from mid 50's till 73 with several changes. Rare is 4.5" and 7.5" barrel. But all indications show my single six stamped revolver has a super single six serial number

Cool; that may make it worth more,I got 1 in 1968,1st revolver i ever bought,I think i traded it for High Standard 22 in the mid 70's.Not 1 of the smartest deals i ever made.Great revolvers, made to shoot for ever.I had both cylinders.Remember shooting Empty 1 lb propane bottle w/Marlin 39A rifle at about 15 yards, made a quarter size dent in the end of it,shot it w/22 mag cylinder,Blew a 1 inch hole through both ends of bottle.Do not make same mistake i did,3 screws are hard to find in good condition, and are costly. You might be able to get info from Ruger about it.Be interesting finding out story about it.--varget204
