6.5 creedmoor, any good ?

Anybody out there have a 6.5 Creedmoor rifle ? I see where Savage is chambering their Modle 10 Peditor rifle for it and I read where it is a very accurate cartridge, even out to long ranges. Just wondering if anybody has any comments on this. Thanks

I just ordered a Savage model 12 LRP in 6.5 Creedmoor. I should have it in about 4 months!
I had a 1/2 off certificate through Savage so I have to wait for them to fill my order directly. For $540 I can wait.
I plan on using this cartridge for metallic silhouette competition. I will be shooting 120gr and 140gr bullets. I also plan on using this rifle for long range precision matches. The accuracy that folks are getting out of this cartridge is very good.
Downside is brass availability. On Hornady is making Creedmoor brass at this time, but recent reports is that it is good and match worthy. I just ordered 200 pieces and I was very impressed with the overall quality.
Other options are a available for creating brass from a host of other calibers. (.22-250, 250 Savage, 260Rem, 7-08, .243, .308)

The 6.5 has always been a favorite in Europe. It is gaining favor in the U.S. In the creedmore it is doing very well according to various reports and write ups in the gun mags. You should be happy with it. However if you are wanting it for much varminting, the recoil will be more than a 204/223/20Var class rifle. For long range hunting/shooting, then the Creedmore would be great. Bill K

The 6.5 mm or better yet the .264 caliber has always been a favorite out West until some negative words about burning up barrels on the .264 Win mag started it's down fall 40 years ago or more. However, it is making a come back, along with calibers like the .264/06 (6.5/06) which I have now in place of my walking around rifle that was in a 25/06. The 6.5 is just a better big game rifle caliber in comparison.
I know nothing other than what the reloading manuals say about that 6.5 Creedmore caliber! I do know that I shoot a 140 grain bullet out of mine and it is only 100 fps slower than the .264 Win mag. It works for me especially with a 100 grain bullet on coyotes.....Wow!
