Savage Pred. Max1 Range Report

Post by Song Dog »

Finally got the new Savage out to the range. It has the accu-stock and I put a Nikon Prostaff 4-12-40 on top of it. I used the rounds I have had already load from another gun. It was 39 BKs with 27.7 grains of Varget.
In total today I put only 20 rounds through it. But she has had 21 total so far. If it started this way, I really can't wait until she is broke in:) I think the groups would have been better if it wasn't for me.
I shot on paper, as you can see I was walking it down at 100 yards. Then I shot one at paper below my other target to see where I was at, at 200 yards. Finally shot the 6 round group at 200 yards.
I am impressed, that to me is accurate out of the box.

That's some fine shooting, Song Dog. ;)

Best of luck with that nice rifle!

My 527 likes those 39 BK's too, with a dose of Reloder 10.

I need to do a bit of posting myself soon.... :chin:

Looks like a good start. Play with some powders and seating depths. Looks like fun ahead of you now.
