that I have been curious about how it shoots, Howa. Does anyone have a Howa and if so how do they shoot? You can throw in what model you shoot, I won't care. :D

I bedded a How varmint/tact for one of the local PD guys. It is a touch on the heavy side when compared to similar setups of other brands. But, it shot well.

My 204 is a Howa 1500 Varminter. It came factory with a bull barrel and a Hogue overmold stock. I put a Leupold VXll 6-18x40 AO and Leupold mounts on it. I have shot a number of groups with it at 100 yards, 3/8 in and under, with my reloads, using my bench from Cabela's and Sinclair front rest with rear bag.

IMHO, this rifle is one of the best buys on the market. about 60.00 bucks less than a comparable Savage, and over $200.00 less than a Remington.
One thing I did change on it was the trigger. Factory trigger would not adjust down to my liking. Replaced it with a Timney, and have it adjusted down to 12 to 14 ounces pull.

Also, this rifle is strictly a bench gun, for shooting fun with skippy and his pals! Weighs a little much for packing around in the field.

Hey Gary, not to get too picky here, but that is my Weatherby Vangard in .223 that is shown in the picture. :D but basically the same rifle with a sporter barrel. Howa makes the Vangard for Weatherby.

Hi Song Dog

I have a Howa 1500 Varmint, 24" Heavy Barrel, Hogue Overmoulded stock, .308win.

I love this gun, it shoots like a beast! For the money I would forget buying a remington personally!

My Howa loves 155g Hornady A-Max's and 44.0g VARGET. Alternatively it also loves the 168g Berger VLD over 40.5g VARGET. mmm, sweet combo! 8)

Buy the Howa and simply enjoy every minute of it, i'd be shocked if you were disappointed!!

Hope this helps!

All the best

K
