Has any body worked on the old M77 Ruger trigger the rifle with the tang safety on it? I have one that could use to be lightend up bit. I noticed that they seem simmular to the Target gray trigger action. I am not sure why the Target gray and the M77 mark II are defferent.

Ryan: I have a nice old M77 Swift that I did a "trigger job" on. All I did was use the Rifle Basix replacement sear assembly, and wah-lah, a very nice trigger that breaks right at about 1 lb. It is now adjustable for either hunting or bench use, and has no creep or overtravel.
These are about the best deal for the money for those old tang safety m77's.

The old tang safety Ruger 77 triggers are adjustable. Just follow the directions in your owners manual. If you don't have an owners manual one can be downloaded from Ruger. These are fine triggers and unlike the new non-adjustable triggers in the 77 MKII's usually do not need replaced by an aftermarket trigger.
