Improved bolts for rifles
No connection with the company, other than being a customer. Glades Armory has some various models of bolts with improved design bolts that are reasonably priced and go right on to replace the stock bolt on some rifle brands. I have bought two so far, one for a CZ527 and one for a Savage build, they sure smooth up the bolt function and clear my larger scope tubes and lens. Way better leverage than the stock bolts. I will be buying a few more to place on some other savage and one more CZ.
You might want to goggle up Glades Armory and give them a look see. Here is the one's I put on one CZ and one savage. Bill K

They also offer one with a large ball on the end. Is there any pros/cons from one to another? or is it a matter of personal preference? I think the one you have would fit into my crowded gun safe better...

They off a few styles, which you can just screw off or onto the main bolt body. Style, I feel is your personal choice and what you like. I prefer the style I show in the photo, the more or less plain knurled finish. They do seem to fit into my safe better on the rifles. But the round one's may also.
Re: Improved bolts for rifles
I ended up ordering a round one. My reason is because I had a similar one on several Savage rifles and I liked them. They were easy to use with gloves on. So I went the safe route (for me). Next up will be figuring out how to install it. I also ordered a Possum Hollow bore guide. I am starting to like this site LOL

I got mine tonight. It goes on great but I cant get the bolt to turn that 1/4 turn back with the new handle in place.

I hold the bolt handle, while I use a set of pliers to rotate the pin in front of the bolt to the cocking position, very easy to do. move it upwards into the cocked position. If you have a very strong grip, you could do it with your hands. ( At 83 yrs, I don't any longer)

Re: Improved bolts for rifles
Did you get it figured out, recocked and working as it should ?
Re: Improved bolts for rifles
NO. this thing is driving me crazy. I have a question. When you put the firing pin assembly into the bolt, should the pin stick out of the bolt face? I have watched lots of videos on this and its just not working. I never had the spring off of the firing pin assembly. HELP!

I wonder if the replacement handle is machined correctly?
