My take on a 4-station gun vise

My wife and I shoot at the range quite a bit. The Kids like to go with us (daughter and son-in-law). I usually bring back at least 3, sometimes 6, dirty rifles. My space for cleaning had enough room for 3 commercial gun stands. I got real bored during the spring blizzards and came up with a 4 station gun vise. Sorry to all you real woodworkers out there.

dsandfort--That is a very nice setup. Besides the I have three Tipton rifle vises and have to have them set up in three different places. You invention sure would save me a lot of running around to three different stations to clean rifles. I might have to build one like that. Do you have rubber on the inside of those wooden vise jaws or do you just your the stock protective cover to keep from damaging the wood on the stock?

How do you like those temperature sensitive strips? I see one on the barrel of the rifle closest to the red cloth on your bench? I sure like them on my prairie dog rifles and they are useful when testing loads at the range as well.

I need to pad the vise jaws since the gun stock sleeves have been discontinued and mine are wearing out. I'm thinking some heavy, soft leather. The most difficult part of the whole project was modifying the clamps. If I had done a better job on the vise handles, I might have been able to squeeze 5 stations in the space but then I'd run a greater risk of dinging a rifle since they would be so close together.
I use the temp strips when shooting squirrels and when it's hot out. Just a quick visual reminder.
Regarding the "brace". I'd shoot anything. They are for my wife
