I have a custom 270 that I want to sell for 1000.00. I have a buyer lined up. I don't really need or want another rifle, but he has a Savage model 10, 223 cal.,bull barrel, no accu-trigger w/ a Simmons 6-20x44 AO that he no longer uses. He does not have the 1000.00, I want for my rifle, but wants to work a trade for his Savage plus some cash. He told me that this Savage has somewhere close to 2000 rounds down the tube, and has never shot the rifle "HOT". Any body here have a guestamit what this Savage might be worth. I already own a .223 that still shoots great. I do know I don't want anything to do with that Simmons scope. I do have experience with them on 10/22's and some time behind them. Eye strain was terrible and head aches almost unbearable after a day in the rat patch. Now every one of my rifles wear Leupolds, including my 10/22's. Any and all suggestions and comments are appreciated.

Do you trust the buyer to make payments?

This would be a cash and trade deal. I do trust the guy, but I am in no position to become a bank, Payments are not an option.

Gotcha, just thought maybe it would keep you out of a rifle you did not need/want..........if there is such a thing! As for putting a value on it, hopefully some one will be able to help.

Maybe smoewhere between $400.00 and $500.00 CASH and work the rest out? And the fact that it's a Savage, you can change it to just about any caliber you want. Set the barrel back to .221 Fireball. Slap a Rifle Basix trigger on it and make it a real shooter.
