I hunted with a custom 6.5-06 for a number of years and it was my go to rifle for all NA game.....very impressive results. A number of years ago it was stolen 
and I am still ticked off about it. When I replace it I will be getting a 6.5x55AI built as I feel the brass is easier to come by than the .260AI. You could not go wrong either way and the little 6.5 pill is just magic.
