Ruger 77/17 Hornet
Re: Ruger 77/17 Hornet
Anyone reloading the 17 Hornet yet? I have done some but trying to figure out what powder Hornady uses in the 20gr. V-Max factory load. I have tried contacting Hornady but no response.

Sorry, Mack, if it's like the 204, it will be their own proprietary blend. As in, not available to us that roll our own.

Re: Ruger 77/17 Hornet
I haven't read through the entire post, however my question is do these hornets suffer from the same 2 piece bolt issue their 22 hornet does?

Re: Ruger 77/17 Hornet
Alberta: Lots of guys have had their Ruger Hornet bolts shimmed to fix that sloppy bogus two piece arrangement with excellent accuracy results. Just a thought if you're considering one for yourself.

cool and light snow here, for the first day of '14...
Re: Ruger 77/17 Hornet
Huntsman as much as you have shot your 17 hornet have you had any issues with the ammo or reloading the brass and the primmer pocket problems.

Re: Ruger 77/17 Hornet
The brass I have has been good, other than shallow primer pockets on a bunch. I wish I'da kept track of lot numbers. That said, it's just more work to use the sinclair uniformer and deepen the heck outta them.
