I haven't done much experimenting with my k98, but my current load is 47 grains of IMR 4064 under a 170gr Speer Hotcor. No chrono or recorded group sizes, but they seemed to shoot the best with the open sights! I figured out my load by going to reloadersnest.com

good luck

Thanks for the reply. Still working on her. My dad had a load of 52.0 IMR 3031 w/ 125 tip. Talk about a compressed load. Pulled 3 apart to check it out and re-seat bullets. Shot them and lost all 3 cases ol win brass split at shoulder neck area. Also found a bad crown. Rifle must have been cleaned form the muzzle end ?? Going to get the fixed before any more load development of my own. Nice walking rifle 6-1/2 # and kick like a mule from the bench. Haha. I'd like to stay with 150's if the'll shoot. 170's might be the go to bullet for that caliber??
Thanks and later.

I load the 170's for my sporterized German. Rifle shoots VERY well.
