Ruger 77/17 Hornet

Post by Rick in Oregon »

Well, it's finally here, at least on the Ruger website:

http://www.ruger.com/products/rotaryMag ... odels.html

Only one stock option to start with, but I'm sure that will change. Sure has been a long wait...wonder how long till we see them available? :chin:

Rick,

I spoke with CZ a month or so ago and they will have it out in the Dec/Jan time frame on their 527 American/Varmint models.

I'll have one on the way tommorow. I really can't like the GM plywood handle. If you know of a walnut 77/22 Hornet stock that somebody has, please lemme know. thanks, Don.

Let us know how she shoots. I sure do like the looks of the ruger but still nobody has convinced me of their out of the box shooting capabilities. Hopefully you change my mind. I sure would like to have one.

Sure seems like a nice rifle. I don't mind the stock myself.

It shoots acceptabley. Will tweek with handloads and trigger work....

Got it on my 100 yd gong and went to paper. Was going to do a 10 shot group, but the first three were low/left. 3 clicks over and up, and then the next seven. Group climbed a tad with the last 4 touching.

Image

stuck on a dot for the last 3 rounds. first was center, next 2 hi.....

The trigger breaks nice, no creep, but heavy.....

couple random pics.

Went to the prairie dog town to try it out. Overcast with a storm coming, and nothing was out. Maybe next week, on critters. Don
