Re: 17TAC is Home
details on your new weaponry? brand? action? custom made? barrel length and twist rate? I'm a sucker for the details
It's hard to detect good luck, It looks so much like something you've worked hard for and earned.

Re: 17TAC is Home
It was a Savage Predator Max1 and I put a Lilja 17 barrel 1-9. I had him just leave the barrel lenght the same as what comes with the original Pred Max1. I will shoot the 30 gr Kindler Golds through it with Varget.

Song Dog--That's a nice looking rig you have there. Make sure you keep your powder charges reasonable so you don't burn the barrel up on that beauty trying to get maximum velocity with those 30 gr. Golds. Kindler's loads are usually on the hot side. My .17 TAC shoots the 30 gr. Golds fairly decent and the muzzle velocity of the load I use now with those 30 gr. Golds is 3,792 fps. With the high BC they hold the line pretty good even at only 3,792 fps. The coyotes and prairie dogs I have shot with this load never knew they weren't hit with a 30 gr. bullet going 3,900 fps.

Silverfox, Thats right and anyway I rather have longer barrel life and loose a few fps. Gonna get a chrony and really work with it.
