12 BTCSS Savage

Post by Song Dog »

Boy did this catch my eye. I know it may be heavy and a heavy gun don't bother me.
Does any of you guys have this, in 204?

I am gun searching, lost my mom on the 17th and she sure loved to hear coyote stories and if I was to have one in the truck, no matter the weather, she would come out and look. So in honor of her I am gonna get a gun and put her nickname on it.
I have also considered the Predator Max1 in 204.

So if there is any experiences with it or any model 12 would be appreciatted, real only difference between teh 12s is this one is a thumbhole.

Sorry for your loss, but for fortune, so go we all. My mother's fought off breast cancer three times now, so I sorta know how you feel. It keeps you on your last nerve. If you need anything, just holler, we're all friends here.

12s are 12s, they just change stocks. 12LRPV, 12VLP, 12FVSS, 12FV, etc. You're not losing or gaining any mechanical difference in the barrelled actions, just whatever you gain or lose in the stock dynamics (probably none).

Sorry for your loss Song Dog. We lost our mom to brain cancer several years ago. The only thing that I feel sad about, she was not able to see her grandkids mature. I know she is there in spirit though.

Sorry to hear about your mom.

I have a BGTVS .204 which is close to the BTCSS. The only difference is the color I think. The thumbhole stock is comfortable. Trying to find another one like it to take PD hunting this summer.

Hi, I am sorry for your loss. I lost my dad on Veterans day and it was very tough to go through. Honoring your mom with a new gun seems like a great idea. I would go with the thumbhole stock, maybe just so it is something different from other guns you might have. Take care, Rudy.

Wow guys...I am truly touched. And Clint is right she will make you laugh or you will make her laugh. Dog gone its tough, but I know where she is.

Another thing Clint, I will have one of them but not both at the same time ;) .
Thanks for all the info, but more touched by the support and another big THANKS to all.

I also have a BGTVS, same thing just dif color like other guy said. Nice rifle, but the crown was HORRID when I got it. Called Savage and they made it right - shipping and all was free of charge. I think it took about two or three weeks to get it back. Shoots well enough and the stock feels perfect off a bench. Haven't tried bipod/prone though.

I just picked up this 12 LRPV dual port in 6BR. I have yet to shoot it but it sure is nice.... and heavy - 11lbs! Hope to get it out soon.
