Hey Guys,

I've been looking at this gun for a bit now and am thinking of purchasing it. If any one has any more information on it like rate of twist, detachable box magazine etc. that would be a huge help.

Thanks

Go To the Legacy Sports site (goggle them up) and check out the specs on all their rifles. They show the converstion kit for the ar style magazine and all.. I just bought a 1500 Hoque with the #2, 22 inch barrel in 204 Ruger.. It is shooting very nice. I am going to add the five round mag set up and have on hand a 10 round mag also. Bill K :D

Brett,

The Howa Varmint model has a 24" barrel with a 1 in 12" twist rate. They utilitze an internal box type magazine from the factory. There are a couple company's that offer a removable mag conversion. Overall the Howa's are excellent rifles and have always performed well for me. Another big plus is the easy adjustability of their triggers. In my opinion Howa has one of the best factory triggers on the market. I typically adjust my Howa triggers down to about 1 pound or just a little over. If you do decide to buy the rifle let us know how it shoots for you.

I've owned my Howa 1500 Varmint model since August of 07. Didn't take a whole lot to find the right load for the 32 Vmax. Will group under 1/2 in. if I do my part. And with the 39gr SBK's it will shoot around 3/8 in at 100 yards. I have a lot of kills at over 400 yards on skippy, crows, and a few magpies, And a crow at just over 500 yards, and a coyote at 419 yards. All confirmed with a laser range finder.
I did install a Timney trigger in it, adjusted down to between 12 and 13ozs. I just couldn't get the factory trigger down that far!
I will just say, ; GET THE RIFLE. Let us know what you decide, and remember, we like gun porn!
