Prairie Poodling pics (frame by frame) *Very Graphic*

Post by Gube »

My daughter was bugging me to take her out to do some ground squirrel shooting on Sunday so we piled into the truck and drove 40 minutes to a new location that I had checked out earlier in the year. To my surprise there was no shortage of targets. As you all know I like the "action" shots (I consider them as a form of "ART" ) so here you go and enjoy.

Most of these shots were about 200 yds and my daughter was using mostly the 26 gr VG's and the 39 BK's. The 39's were a bit more explosive than the VG's and I found that some of the VG's did not "open up".

This next one was with a 26 gr VG. As you can see in the photo, looks like it may have connected just below on the dirt but still took skippy out.

The 204 barrels had to cool down, so then it was my turn to let the 243 T3 light have a turn.
Here's one that was mystified using a 62 gr VG

and here is yours truly with the T3 lite.

Looking at this one, you would think that my daughter was aiming for the one on the left. Nope, she took the one on the right that was "hunkered down". Guess he could'nt flatten down far enough to escape.

Primo shots there, Gube! Gotta love the action stuff. Our problem is that I can't get anyone on the camera for over a minute, as everybody wants to shoot, including me. Guess I gotta take more time away from the rifle if I want this kind of action, eh?

Nice work, really enjoyed the show!

My daughters boyfriend got some good hang time on this one. His primary choice of weaponry was my VLP with the 39 BK's

and of course the Hero shot with the VLP.

Gube........"Very Graphic and Very Good"!! Realy enjoyed the show.
Glade to see everyone had a good time. Besides cleaning the rifles..........do you have to clean your camers lens from all those close-up shots..
Thanks again..Good job!!

Glad ya liked the show. I still have a few more to post. It sure is tough trying to co-ordinate photo, rifle, AND skippy together. Thank goodness for digital cuz there was a ton of photos that were deleted when one of the three components didn't line up and fall into play.

If you look closely on this one, you can actually see the "red mist" just above and to the right just at impact with a 26 VG.

This is the kind of visual through the scope that makes me want to go back and do it again.
This particular fella was nailed with the "texas heart shot"

Gube, what was the average distance from the camera, and what lens were you using? Inquiring minds want to know....... :chin:

Two more sets to go. This one was with the 26 vg

Image

Image

39 BK with this last one.

Image

Image

And of course I need to include the other two shooters.
Here is my daughter using the BTVSS
Image

And here is a shot of my youngest son. His preference was the ruger 10/22. He has an uncanny ability for connecting past 100 yards doing "free hand". If AR's were legal for varminting out here, I'm sure it would be his first choice.
Image

Well that's all I have for now. Hope everyone enjoyed the show. Still raining out here, but man we really need it. As soon as we get a break in the weather I plan to head back out to the "misting" fields.
