Success on a windy day.

Got out this morning in about 10 mph winds. Second stand I started out with jackrabbit-10 minutes, lucky bird-10 minutes, and then northern flicker-10 minutes. At the 30 minutes mark, I switched to pup distress for about 5 minutes and turned it off and waited. At the 40 minute mark this fella come out at about 300 yards coming my way. He marked the feather and was hooked. He got to about 100 yards and stopped to assess the situation and that was his last mistake. CZ 527 with 40gr Vmax put him down hard.

Funny thing was when I hit the pup distress sound something to my left in the cutover got out of there quick. I killed a nice male tom in this same spot last January. I may have had another cat almost ready to commit. Oh well, I will never know now.

I love it. Very easy to carry in the field and fun to shoot. Very accurate as well. The set trigger did it for me. It is by far the best shooting rifle I own.
