I use the peltor 6-s behind the head model. They are slim and unobtrusive. They work well with a big brimmed hat in the PD fields. I turn them upside down when wearing a ballcap, and put the wire over the little plastic deally on the back of the cap. Helps hold it on in the wind.........

have a set of the Peltor shot gunners. They're slimmer and smaller than most and work just fine with all varmint calibers. To be honest, I only use them when needed. I prefer the foam earplugs for bench work ESPECIALLY in hot weather. Although when at the range "ALONE" and a guy shows up shooting a 300 RUM with a muzzle break. (You know he's gonna sit right next to you) . I double up with plugs and muffs.

another vote for the peltor units. i use the tac classic 7 series. tried the 6s series, but had too many problems with them. no problems at all with the 7's. go to midways site and read customer comments on the peltor units, especially the 6s, and you will read a few comments that will help with your selection. comments about problems with 6s are typical of the problems i had with 2 different pairs of them. seems like you either get a great pair with no problems or they just don't wok right. finally settled for the tac 7's

Glad you posted a picture of yourself Hawkeye, I always wondered what you looked like.

One of the very best investments a shooter can make is electronic muffs. Wish I would have had them decades ago.
