I haven't been on 204ruger.com for a while. Probably because I haven't been doing any small game hunting of late. That all changed on Wednesday night. There was stuff all on the television and I decided to call one of my locals for a chat. "G'day, I'm being overrun with Foxes, when are you coming out next?" was the opening line. I had to think about the request for lengthy 2 seconds. One hour later I was out at the property, setting up the spotlight for a perimeter patrol with the 204.
Although there have been quite a few severe frosts, the ground cover was still relatively high for this time of year.
There were a couple of dead lambs about that have been providing sustenance for Basil. All up nine foxes were seen, five were taken from five shots. There was only one case of the 39gr BlitzKing producing an exit wound – Basil shot on the trot at ~90m. All others were within the head/body.
