Hot Barrels In Eastern Oregon Part 3

Well i am a little late but it was an ok trip not a lot of rats out in Oregon this time of year but still a good time. Our barrels were mostly hot from the 95-100 deg weather

I notice you guys all use those huge front bags. A friend of mine bought one recently, and after trying it, I want one. Question though... If shooting many rounds in succession, doesn't having the barrel nestled down in that bag make it heat up faster, and take longer to cool? I've never even shot at a prairie dog, but I'm trying to get set up to go to SD later this summer.

The front bags we use are called dog on good bags there made locally here in Oregon look them up they work geat, And hotshot the benches are unbeatable in performance i have either tried or sat in most of them these benches rock. They are home made and altered from a plan off of richards custom rifles .com. Look them up

The only problem I see is the "flowered sun umbrella"...........haha!

I agree on the umbrella it was my best freinds i wouldnt be caught dead with that on my bench. And yes Captain we ran to the sprinklers and soaked up.

Caldwell also makes the same bag. I got one from Midway, but haven't had time to try it out. By the Midway pic, I thought it was the regular smaller bag that could be used for either end so when I saw how big it is I didn't know if I'd like it or not. Good to know you guys like them. Caldwell calls theirs the Tack Driver. I got the unfilled version and filled it with popcorn. I guess that might be considered a safety feature, it the barrel gets so hot the corn starts popping it's time to back off.
