The weather finally cooperated a little today, and we made our way to our hot spot here in northern Kalifornia, as rick puts it,. Actually got too hot for my taste, but skippy did cooperate, at least for about half the day. not much action with the center fires, 204, and 223. But we did a lot of shooting with our 10/22's. went thru about a half brick of bullets each.
We got up to the ranch first thing in the morning, and were a little surprised to see the alfalfa had grown up 18 to 24 inches high. pretty high considering our targets are smaller than an average ground squirrel. went to a spot that we shoot quit often and this worked out great! between 2 fields and the wheel line from each field leaves a gap of un irregated land, so the grass and alfalfa are somewhat thin and stunted. targets were weary and most of our shots were head and shoulder shots, from about 50 yds on out to around 150 yds. good range for the 22's, the way we shoot. both of us a real good with them 22's. I am trying to post some pics, if I can get them on the site. ImageImageImage[/img]

all in all we had a great day, but was a little on the warm side, and the 204 didn't get a whole lot of action because we had plenty of squirrels within 100 yards. so we chose to shoot the 10/22's
