BEGUN!

I know...worthless thread without pictures. Started out VERY slow....and ended in the light/medium category. Only 200 rounds fired....but they were quality rounds!

acloco-- So here's a few pictures so the thread isn't worthless

The photos below are of a prairie dog I shot with my Pac-Nor barreled .17 Remington using Hornady 25 gr. V-Max bullets. This shot was a head-on shot with the prairie just poking his head up out of the mound. I can't remember the distance, but I don't think it wasn't much over 60 to 75 yards. The V-Max did a number on his head. This first picture is of the weapon and the carnage:

The next photo shows a little bit closer picture of the results of the shot.

And finally, a closeup of the jaw and teeth!

Can we all say, DISINTEGRATED!!!!

Silver - whoa....nothing like a quick little 17 to make things "fall apart" in a hurry!

If anybody is given the opportunity to send a few 17 Rem's downrange, don't pass up the chance. You will see a hole in the target, dirt fly, and THEN feel the little bit of recoil...they are THAT quick.

Witnessed a "quadruple Lindy with a twist". Picked up a good size dog, flipping in 4 times forward, while completing a slow clockwise twist, with 4-5 feet of air.....at 250 yards. Impressive.

200 rounds is a lot to me! The AZ p-dog season just closed March 31 (re-opens mid June) and the temps were a little cool and the wind 15-30 mph (that sucked) and in the morning I shot about 40 rounds in 2 hours and in the afternoon only 10 rounds. Got plenty of hits and my 10 year old grandson loved spotting for me. But 200 rounds-that would be cool......

AZ Hunter - no kidding? Ugh..most I have shot is 700 rounds in 7 hours (of centerfire). That day was a VERY target rich environment though.

acloco: Ain't it great now that spring has sprung? Well, it's trying to spring at least.

Glad you got out, and any day you fire that many CF rounds, its a good day! I'm too anal I guess, rarely get more than 300 or 400 CF rounds down range on a good day, as I stop to clean my barrels, even the WS2 barrels after about 80 to 100 rounds. It's like putting a sweet ride in the garage after a trip, all dirty....just can't bring myself to do it. :?

Silverfox: Nice pics there, bud! I had a similar 'head experience' this weekend here in Oregon...check out my post above...my rat has a split personality too. ;) Have you ever considered a career change to dentistry?
